Daily Devotional: The Cry for Justice

Bible Reading Today: Psalm 109:16-25

The psalmist asks God that the curses of the evil one will enter into his body and bones. The psalmist prays for God’s righteousness to show for a long time, but with no response. The enemies ridicule him, but the psalmist does not give up and continues to pray.

Applications

Where is your cry for justice? Perhaps you need to be the voice that stands up for the justice of others, namely, those who are poor, weak, homeless, and marginalized. Pray for those who are suffering unjustly. Reach out to those who have been paralyzed by injustice.

How do you respond to pain? It is easy to grip and complain in the midst of hardship. But we need to rest in the steadfast love of God. Without that as the bedrock of your world view, the suffering you encounter will eat away at you.
